Spring Wildflower Walk
Today we hiked at Sierra Azul, a preserve protected by our partner, Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District (Midpen). This preserve is more than 19,000 acres in the Santa Cruz mountains. We began our hike at 1400 feet and hiked out on rolling up and down hills and a gradual short uphill enabling us to see views of Mt Umunhum, Guadalupe Creek, waterfalls, Mt Hamilton and the downtown San Jose skyline. As we traveled, we found nearly two dozen Spring wildflowers and added them to our checklist. We ended the afternoon with a picnic lunch. This special program was hosted in partnership with Midpen.
