Christmas Trees and Chestnuts Trek

On this cool, sunny day, we walked along multiple trails in Long Ridge and Skyline Ridge Preserves. We heard the rushing creek after the rains, and saw green hills, mushrooms growing on decaying branches and took in scenic views of the Santa Cruz mountains. Along the way, we learned about chestnuts, the Christmas tree farm restoration project and the wildlife that flourishes around Horseshoe Lake. This special program was hosted in partnership with Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District.
