Long Ridge Geology & Paleontology Hike

We had a beautiful day at Long Ridge Open Space Preserve on shady and sunny trails with scenic views of the Santa Cruz mountains, the Pacific Ocean and Butano Ridge. Along the way, we learned about the geological changes and fossils found in this area including a six-inch long, 10 million year old Megalodon tooth! We ended the day with a picnic lunch with a view. Big thank you goes out to Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District for supporting this hike that included bus transportation, lunch, a snack and a bottle of water.
