Rancho San Antonio Permanente Creek Walk

This hike took us along shady trails of a rancho from the early 1800’s. Along the way, we learned about the park’s natural and cultural history and walked across four bridges over Permanente Creek. We learned about Permanente Creek, its Diversion Channel that was built by the Santa Clara Valley Water District in 1959 and the Permanente Creek Flood Protection Project. We had a leisurely lunch at 150-year old Deer Hollow Farm. At the end of the day, BAOers were tested on the five environmental and community benefits of the The Permanente Creek Flood Protection Project. Thank you to Santa Clara Valley Water District for their support of our hike!
