Quarry Lakes Regional Recreation Area

This park contains four bodies of water: Horseshoe Lake, Rainbow Lake, Willow Slough and Lago Los Osos. Fishing is only permitted in the Horseshoe Lake and Rainbow Lake. Daily Fishing Access Permit sales fund the planting of trout and catfish in Horseshoe Lake. Fishing is also available at Shinn Pond, just east of Quarry Lakes off Alameda Creek Regional Trail. Park visitors may only launch electric or nonmotorized boats.

Requirements

A California Fishing License is required for all anglers aged 16 and above. An EBRPD Daily Fishing Access Permit is also required for all anglers age 16 and over. A current California Fishing License is required, but not a District Daily Fishing Access Permit. Only electric or nonmotorized boats are allowed in the lakes.

Operating Hours

The park opens at 6 am year round and closes at dusk.

Fees

The Daily Fishing Access Permit may be purchased at the park entry kiosk. There are parking, boat launch and dog fees except for guide dogs.

Disabled Access

There is a wheelchair accessible fishing pier recently installed at Horseshoe Lake. All the facilities at the Niles beach area, the Ensenada Pavilion area, and the Orchard picnic area are wheelchair accessible.
