Bicycle Clubs in East Bay
The Almaden Cycle Touring Club (ACTC) promotes off and on road cycling in the Bay Area for all age and skill levels. ACTC is a volunteer-based non-profit organization emphasizing the social, recreational, transportation and health aspects of cycling. They offer over 150 rides per month. Guests are welcome on club rides. They also have events like dinners and parties where you can socialize with other club members.
Delta Pedalers offer bike rides throughout the week. Some rides occur on a regular weekly basis while others are one time only. Rides may be local or out of town. Their rides are open to nonmembers.
Diablo Cyclists is a recreational road, touring and off road bicycle club. They are focused on providing cyclists of all levels an opportunity to ride, train and socialize with other bicycle enthusiasts. Their emphasis is more on the fitness, skill building, and social aspects of bicycling and less on racing.
Check Fremont Freewheelers Bicycle Club calendar for both weekday (within Alameda County) and weekend rides (throughout the Bay Area). Their rides accommodate fast riders with hills as well as leisurely flat touring riders. They also have member social events.
The Grizzly Peak Cyclists is a Berkeley based group that hosts about half their rides in the East Bay and the rest are all over the San Francisco Bay Area. Their club includes novices, intermediates, advanced riders with a range of rides that involve socializing and eating as well as a full day of riding.
The Yellowjackets bicycle club is a social, multi-cultural group for men and women of all ages, skill levels and types of bicycles. They never leave anyone alone, and they focus on safety. They have four levels of riding groups to fit your needs. Rides distance is between 35-80 miles depending on the group.
The Valley Spokesmen are a San Francisco Bay Area bicycle club based in Dublin California. They organize local and nonlocal mainly on road rides that range from short neighborhood tours to strenuous century length rides. They have a group within the club called The Feather Pedals that is a no cost cycling group that organizes group rides for women.
