Child Advocates of Silicon Valley Peninsula
There are three types of programs for volunteers who want to help abused or neglected children who are now in foster care. In the Advocate Program, volunteers become a court appointed special advocate for a child. Once or twice per year, advocates submit a report to the court and attend a court hearing for the child. Volunteering as a visiting program advocate means visiting a child for 2-4 hours every month with a 6 month committment. Non-advocate volunteers can help with special projects and planning childrens activities and fundraisers.
