ITINERARY

Guide Dog Training Tour

We head to San Rafael to visit the Guide Dog for the Blind to learn about their programs and clients as we tour their facilities and meet their guide puppies and dogs. We will go to the puppy center to see and learn how the puppies are socialized to prepare for becoming guide dogs. Guide Dog Puppies

At our last stop in the training courtyard, we learn about how the dogs are trained and keep their handlers safe. Guide Dogs Ready to Help Visually Impaired People

Caribbean Soul Food

We will enjoy a Puerto Rican inspired chicken, beef or vegetarian lunch with rice, beans, organic salad and fried plantains. The restaurant owner, Marisol is a former children's hair stylist whose friends and family encouraged her to serve some of her signature dishes at a special event. Her food soon became so popular at farmer's markets that she moved into her first brick-and-mortar restaurant space.

Sausalito Center for the Arts Tour

Did you know that in the early to mid-20th century, Sausalito became a magnet for bohemian artists and writers seeking an alternative lifestyle? The town's unique atmosphere and natural beauty attracted creative people looking for inspiration. With that in mind, we will visit The Sausalito Center for the Arts, a gallery and event space managed by an arts nonprofit whose mission is to enrich the cultural experience of Marin and unite community through diverse artistic expression in visual arts, dance, music, textiles, pottery, poetry, song and theater. During our special tour of the 4000 square foot space, the center's Executive Director will teach us about the artists, sculptures, paintings, photos, jewelry, and crafts that adorn the walls and occupy the space. She will answer your questions and has promised us some cookies as well! Sausalito Center for the Arts Exhibits
