Bugs & Galls Walk
Join us for a thoughtful stroll at McClellan Ranch Preserve while we look for, see and learn about the insects that inhabit the area with a focus on fall gall wasps. Our expert entomologist may find a diversity of colorful beetles, grasshoppers, dragonflies, ants and bugs. We will end our journey with an included picnic lunch. Transportation and lunch are included. This special program is hosted in partnership with Valley Water. Image by Anne Ferguson.

Guadalupe River Birding and Native Plants Walk
Join us for a leisurely, 2.5-mile, one-way walk led by a Naturalist along the Guadalupe River, a significant migratory flyway for birds. We will start in Alviso and walk to the Ulistac Natural Area, the only dedicated natural open space in the City of Santa Clara. During the walk, we will learn about the importance of riparian corridors as vital habitats that provide essential resources for birds and other wildlife. Our Naturalist will discuss the native plants we encounter during the fall and the specific habitats where these plants thrive in the park. After we stroll along the Guadalupe River, we will also have the opportunity to explore the garden. We will conclude the day with a social picnic lunch. This special program is hosted in partnership with Valley Water. Transportation and picnic lunch are included.
